PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)


Become a certified PADI Dive instructor and start teaching scuba worldwide.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) prepares Divemasters to become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI). The program covers the PADI System of Education, teaching techniques, risk management, and instructor-level dive skills.

The IDC includes two components:

  • Assistant Instructor (AI)
  • Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)

Successful completion qualifies you to take the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). Training involves classroom sessions, confined water teaching presentations, open water evaluations, and professional development under direct mentorship of a PADI Course Director.

Prerequisites:

  • PADI Divemaster certification
  • 100 logged dives before certification
  • Current CPR/First Aid (within 24 months)
  • Minimum age: 18 years
